Welcome to the 2025-26 school year! I hope you enjoyed a safe and restful summer filled with memorable moments and renewed energy. As we open our doors once again, I am filled with excitement and optimism for what lies ahead for our students, families, and staff across our Preschool and K–12 community.
This school year, our focus remains clear: we are committed to a culture of continuous improvement, to providing high-quality learning opportunities, and to meeting the unique needs of every student. These commitments guide every decision we make and reflect our beliefs…

We recognize that student needs are dynamic and that learning is a lifelong journey. That’s why we continue to focus on three major initiatives while investing in impactful teaching strategies, social-emotional support systems, and a true learning organization. Beyond Textbooks will continue to be the primary curriculum framework, the Multi-tiered System of Support (MTSS) will provide focus on meeting all levels of student needs both academic and emotional, and the Professional Learning Community (PLC) process in which educators commit to working together to ensure higher levels of learning for every student. Our educators and support staff are dedicated professionals who are prepared to meet students where they are and move them forward.
Safety is a priority for our employees and students. Both cyber security and physical security is our focus.
We are not just starting another school year—we are moving forward together, building upon what we’ve learned, and aiming higher. With your support and partnership, we will continue to make Kayenta Unified School District a place where all learners are seen, supported, and celebrated.
