Job Qualifications

Biology Teacher

  • Valid Arizona State Secondary Teaching Certificate for the secondary level.

  • Valid Arizona State Fingerprint Clearance Card.

  • Degree(s) required and area of major study and/or 24 content hours.

  • Must have Biology as an approved area.

  • Structured English Immersion (SEI) or English as a Second Language (ESL) endorsement preferred.

Bus Driver

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. minimum.

  • Must meet all Arizona School Bus Driver Certification requirements: Possess an Arizona Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License with Passengers (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements.

  • Pass A.D.O.T. physical examination.

  • Possess First Aid and CPR certification for adults, children, and infants.

  • Pass all drug testing requirements.

  • Pass three-day New Bus driver Training courses and Exam test.

  • Complete and pass a 20-hour Behind the Wheel training.

  • Pass the Physical Performance Test.

  • Must have five years of clean driving record.

  • Must comply with the Arizona Minimum Standards for Student Transportation and Federal Regulations.

  • Must be able to handle emergencies in bus operation.

  • Must be dedicated and understanding of children and their safety.

  • Must be able to demonstrate knowledge of operational and preventive maintenance techniques.

  • Demonstrated aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities.

  • Must be able to work flexible hours.

Bus Monitor

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. minimum.

  • Valid Arizona State Fingerprint Clearance Card required.

  • Must be dependable and reliable.

  • Must have First Aid and CPR certifications for adult, children, and infant.

  • Must be dedicated and understanding of children and their safety.

  • Ability to follow the school’s health, safety, and emergency procedures.

  • Must have experience working with children with significant challenges.

  • Must be willing to learn the Arizona Minimum Standards for Student Transportation.

  • Must pass the three-day Bus Monitor Training Course.

  • Must be physically fit to lift, transfer, and physically assist students pre-school through age 22.

Director of Operations

  • Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Facility Management, Engineering or Construction Management.

  • Master’s Degree preferred.

  • Valid Arizona State Fingerprint Clearance Card required.

  • Knowledgeable of OSHA, AHERA, DPS, NNEPA regulations and building codes.

  • Must have thorough understanding of computer programs related to construction, custodial, and maintenance department.

  • Five (5) years of successful experience in a managerial capacity over custodial, maintenance and grounds operations preferred.

  • Must have knowledge of procurement and purchasing and successful experience in effectively managing a budget.

  • Previous successful leadership experience and continued ability to work with pupils, staff, parents, vendors, contractors, and the general public.

Elementary Teacher

  • Valid Arizona State Teaching Certificate for the elementary (K-8) level.

  • Valid Arizona State Fingerprint Clearance Card required.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education.

  • Fifteen (15) hours of State approved Structured English Immersion (SEI) coursework.

  • Successful student teaching experience at the elementary school level.

  • Structured English Immersion (SEI) or English as a Second Language (ESL) endorsement preferred.

English Language Arts Teacher

  • Valid Arizona State Secondary Teaching Certificate for the secondary level.

  • Valid Arizona State Fingerprint Clearance Card.

  • Degree(s) required and area of major study and/or 24 content hours.

  • Must have English Language Arts as an approved area.

  • Structured English Immersion (SEI) or English as a Second Language (ESL) endorsement preferred.

Grounds Maintenance I

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. minimum.

  • Must have a valid Arizona State Driver’s License.

  • Must have a valid Arizona State Fingerprint Clearance Card required.

  • Must have ground maintenance experience.

  • Must exhibit good health, adequate strength, literacy, and citizenship.

  • Must be dependable and reliable.

  • Able to operate small and heavy equipment safely.

  • Able to operate and maintain riding mowers.

  • Able to apply chemicals under supervision.

  • Understands and recognizes desired grounds maintenance standards.

  • Must be safety conscientious.

  • Must be computer literate.

  • Must be a team player and have a positive attitude.

Head Varsity Cheerleading Coach (High School)

  • Valid Arizona State Teaching Certificate preferred.

  • Valid Arizona State Fingerprint Clearance Card.

  • First-Aid and CPR certification required.

  • Complete AIA Information Course (annual coaches’ workshop)

  • Complete NFHS Rules Interpretation Course (annual coaches’ workshop)

  • Three years of successful high school cheerleading coaching experience preferred.

  • Pass NFHS Cheer Safety Exam with a minimum of 75-percent.

  • NFHS Concussion in Sports required.

  • Demonstrate interest in and an aptitude for performing the responsibilities of this position.  

Head Varsity Coach (High School and Middle School)

  • Valid Arizona State Teaching Certificate preferred.

  • Three years of successful high school coaching experience preferred.

  • NFHS Coach Level 1 Certification (NFHS Learning Center).

  • NFHS Bullying, Hazing and Inappropriate Behaviors Course required.

  • Valid Arizona State Fingerprint Clearance Card required.

  • First-Aid and CPR certification required.

  • Valid Arizona State Driver License required.

  • Yearly Mini-Bus Driver Training required 30 days after hiring.

  • Demonstrate interest in and an aptitude for performing the responsibilities of this position. 

In-person Occupational Therapist

  • Arizona State License for Occupational Therapists.

  • Valid Arizona State Driver’s License.

  • Valid Arizona State Department of Public Safety Fingerprint Clearance Card required.

  • Successful work experience in an educational setting with students with physical disabilities required.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with instructional staff, paraprofessionals, professionals outside of school/community, and parents.

In-person Speech Language Pathologist

  • Master’s Degree in Speech Pathology.

  • Valid Speech Language Pathologist Certificate issued by Arizona Department of Education.

  • Certification of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology.

  • Valid Arizona State Fingerprint Clearance Card required.

  • Experience as a practicing Speech Language Pathologist.

  • Bilingual English/Navajo preferred.

Navajo Arts & Crafts Teacher

  • Valid Arizona State Secondary Teaching Certificate or Career Technical Education Teaching Certificate at the secondary level.

  • Valid Arizona State Fingerprint Clearance Card required.

  • Bachelor's degree required and area of major study and/or 24 content hours.

  • Specialized knowledge of Navajo culture and history in Navajo arts and crafts.

  • Approved area in Art preferred.

  • Structured English Immersion (SEI) or English as a Second Language (ESL) endorsement preferred.

  • Ability to speak the Navajo language. 

Principal (Baker Middle School)

  1. Valid Arizona State Administrative Certificate.

  2. Master’s degree in education.

  3. Valid Arizona State Fingerprint Clearance Card required.

  4. Five years of successful teaching experience, middle school level required.

  5. Fifteen (15) hours of State approved Structured English Immersion (SEI) coursework.
