Job Qualifications

ABC Preschool Teacher

  • Valid State of Arizona Teaching Certificate.

  • Must hold Arizona State Special Education credentials.

  • Possesses a current CPR and First Aid certifications.

  • Possesses a valid Arizona State Fingerprint Clearance Card required.

  • Evidence of successful teaching experience.

  • Pre-school or Head Start experience preferred.

  • Early Childhood endorsement required.

Administrative Assistant

  • Two years of business college or technical school required.

  • Valid Arizona State Fingerprint Clearance Card required.

  • Three years of successful secretarial experience required.

  • Filing, typing, word processing, and bookkeeping experience required.

  • Possesses high level secretarial skills and commitment to expanding technology and data processing such maintaining records for professional school responsibilities.

  • Must have experience with Macintosh and Windows Computer operations for automated printing processes, graphics, and spreadsheet.

  • May speak some Navajo language but not mandatory.

Art Teacher

  • Valid Arizona State Teaching Certificate for the elementary, middle, or secondary level.

  • Valid Arizona State Fingerprint Clearance Card required.

  • Bachelor's Degree in elementary, middle, or secondary education.

  • Fifteen (15) hours of State approved Structured English Immersion (SEI) coursework.

  • Successful middle school student teaching experience preferred.

  • Must meet Arizona Department of Education appropriately certified requirements.

  • Structured English Immersion (SEI) or English as a Second Language endorsement.

Assistant Coach (Baker Middle School)

  • Valid Arizona Teaching Certificate preferred.

  • One year of middle school coaching experience preferred.

  • NFHS Coach Level 1 Certification (NFHS Learning Center).

  • NFHS Bullying, Hazing and Inappropriate Behaviors Course required.

  • Valid Arizona State Fingerprint Clearance Card required.

  • First-Aid and CPR certification required.

  • Valid Arizona State Driver License required.

  • Yearly Mini-Bus Driver Training required 30 days after hiring.

  • Demonstrate interest in and an aptitude for performing the responsibilities of the sport.

Assistant Coach (Monument Valley High School)

  • Valid Arizona Teaching Certificate preferred.

  • Valid Arizona State Fingerprint Clearance Card required.

  • Valid Arizona State Driver License required.

  • Yearly Mini-Bus Driver Training required 30 days after hiring.

  • NFHS Coach Level 1 Certification (NFHS Learning Center).

  • NFHS Bullying, Hazing and Inappropriate Behaviors Course required.

  • One year of successful coaching experience required.

  • First-Aid and CPR certification required.

  • Demonstrate interest in and an aptitude for performing the responsibilities of the sport.

Bus Driver

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. minimum.

  • Valid Arizona State Fingerprint Clearance Card.

  • Must meet all Arizona School Bus Driver Certification requirements:  Possess an Arizona Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License with Passengers (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements.

  • Pass A.D.O.T. physical examination.

  • Possess First Aid and CPR certification for adults, children and infants.

  • Pass all drug testing requirements.

  • Pass three-day New Bus driver Training courses and Exam test.

  • Complete and pass a 20-hour Behind the Wheel training.

  • Pass the Physical Performance Test.

  • Must have five years of clean driving record.

  • Must comply with the Arizona Minimum Standards for Student Transportation and Federal Regulations.

  • Must be able to handle emergencies in bus operation.

  • Must be dedicated and understanding of children and their safety.

  • Must be able to demonstrate knowledge of operational and preventive maintenance techniques.

  • Demonstrated aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities.

  • Must be able to work flexible hours.

District-wide Custodian

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. minimum.

  • Valid Arizona State Fingerprint Clearance Card.

  • Valid Arizona State Driver’s License.

  • Prior successful custodial experience preferred.

  • Demonstrated aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities.

  • Must be able to work afternoon, evening, and night shift.

  • Must be in good physical health and able to lift heavy classroom furniture and equipment that may weigh 50 pounds or more.

  • Must work as a team and have knowledge of team cleaning methods and have a positive attitude.

Elementary Youth Coach

  • Valid Arizona State Teaching Certificate preferred. 

  • High School diploma required. 

  • Valid Arizona State Fingerprint Clearance Card. 

  • Valid First Aid and CPR certificate. 

  • Experience and/or knowledge in the sport. 

  • Great with elementary students. 

Head Varsity Coach (Monument Valley High School)

  • Valid Arizona State Teaching Certificate preferred.

  • Three years of successful high school varsity coaching experience preferred.

  •  NFHS Coach Level 1 Certification (NFHS Learning Center).

  •  NFHS Bullying, Hazing and Inappropriate Behaviors Course required.

Lifeguard

  • High Diploma or G.E.D. minimum.

  • Valid Arizona State Fingerprint Clearance Card.

  • Must be at least 18 years old or older.

  • Must have current CPR and First Aid certifications.

  • Lifeguard experience preferred. (Will train if no lifeguard experience and required to complete a Water Safety Instructor (WSI) course and obtain certification to teach swimming lessons.)

Payroll Specialist

  • Associate of Arts Degree in Business, Accounting or Finance, equivalent major or related accounting experience of two years in payroll accounting.

  • Valid Arizona State Fingerprint Clearance Card required.

  • At least two years of experience in payroll procedures of a public school district.

  • Demonstrated competency and experience in PC computer literacy, Word, Excel, TimeClock Plus (the employee attendance timekeeper), and Infinite Visions Accounting software.

  • Accounting experience required.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL

Science Teacher

  • Valid Arizona State Secondary Teaching Certificate for the secondary level.

  • Valid Arizona State Fingerprint Clearance Card required.

  • Degree(s) required and area of major study and/or 24 content hours.

  • Prior teaching experience preferred.

  • Must have Science (Biology; Physics) as an approved area.

  • Structured English Immersion (SEI) or English as a Second Language (ESL) endorsement preferred.

Skilled Part-time Laborer

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. certificate.

  • Valid Arizona State Fingerprint Clearance Card required.

  • Valid Arizona State Driver’s License.

  • Must exhibit good health, adequate strength, literacy, and citizenship.

  • Must be reliable and dependable.

  • Understands and recognizes desired maintenance standards.

  • Must be safety conscientious.

  • Able to lift fifty (50) pounds.

  • Must be familiar with hand tools.

  • Ability to work without close supervision.

Special Education Teacher

  • Valid Arizona State Teaching Certificate.

  • Valid Arizona State Fingerprint Clearance Card required.

  • Must hold Arizona Special Education credentials.

  • Fifteen (15) clock hours of Arizona State approved Structured English Immersion (SEI) coursework.

  • Evidence of successful teaching experience.

Substitute PK-12 Technical Assistant

  • High School Diploma required.

  • Valid Arizona State Fingerprint Clearance Card required.

  • An associate degree: or 60 semester hours of coursework documented on an official transcript from an accredited institution of higher education; or meet a rigorous standard of quality as demonstrated through the passage of a formal State or local academic assessment accepted by the Arizona Department of Education preferred.

  • Possesses current CPR and First Aid certifications.

  • Dependable and reliable attendance.

  • Ability to be flexible with an assigned task.

  • Ability to take initiative as appropriate.

  • Ability to deal with confidential information in a professional manner.

  • Ability to follow the school's health, safety, and emergency procedures.

  • Experience working with students with disabilities and preferably have experience with implementing an Individual Education Plan.

  • Ability to communicate with colleagues, follow instructions, and use problem solving skills that will enable the team to work effectively.

  • Ability to gather and maintain data regarding the performance and behavior of individual students and confer with team about schedules, goals, progress, and performance.

  • Must be physically fit to lift, transfer, and physically assist students pre-school through age 22.

Substitute Teacher

  • Regular Substitute Teachers:  Bachelor’s degree required.

  • First time Substitute Teachers: High School Diploma or 30 semester hours of college education in Education.  

  • Valid Arizona State Teaching Certificate, Regular or Emergency Substitute Teaching Certificate.

  • Valid Arizona State Fingerprint Clearance Card required.

  • Must have a working telephone.

Swimming Instructor

  • Must have a current First Aid and CPR for the professional rescuer certifications.

  • Must possess Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) certification.

  • Must have a Water Safety Instructor certification.

  • Valid Arizona State Fingerprint Clearance Card.

Volunteer Assistant Coach (Middle School & High School)

  • High School diploma or G.E.D. minimum required.

  • Valid Arizona State Fingerprint Clearance Card required.

  • NFHS Coach Level 1 Certification (NFHS Learning Center).

  • First-Aid and CPR certification required.

  • One year of coaching experience preferred.

  • Demonstrate interest in and an aptitude for performing the responsibilities of the sport.
