2021-2022 COVID-19 DASHBOARD

The purpose of this data is to provide our Kayenta Unified School District families and staff with a transparent summary of COVID-19 cases. Individuals who test positive are excluded from participation in any in-person/on campus activity, the individual must meet the return criteria set by the state and local health authorities. The following definitions may help clarify exactly what the dashboard data represents.

All COVID-19 KUSD data shared is for informational purposes only. This information is based on reports to the district from other sources. KUSD confers with Kayenta Indian Health Services Health department to track COVID-19 cases.

Confirmed Active Cases:

A student or staff member participating in on-campus activities who has tested positive for an active COVID-19 infection. Individuals who test positive are excluded from participation in any in-person/on-campus activity until verified that the individual meets the return criteria set by state and local authorities.

Percentage of Active Cases

Percentage of Active Cases:

The number of active cases at a school site as a percentage out of the total number of staff and students at the school.

Resolved Cases

Resolved Cases:

Once the individual is cleared to return, they are no longer considered an active case and their case is removed from the Confirmed Active Cases count and added to Resolved Cases.

KUSD COVID-19 Notification (additional COVID-19 Information)

The potentially positive or positive, COVID-19 tests fall within the FERPA/HIPAA guidelines and the privacy right of students and staff must be protected.

Notifying

The school will notify every person that has been identified to have been in close contact (3ft.) with the positive individual.

Classroom Notification

If the positive person is a student or teacher, all students in that class will be notified with standard KUSD COVID-19 Classroom Notification Letter.

All Close Contact Notified

After all persons who have been in close contact have been notified, and the notification letter has been sent, the case is reported on the weekly the KUSD COVID-19 Dashboard.
