Superintendent in office

December 1, 2021

The Governing Board recently approved a resolution strongly encouraging all employees and age-eligible students to receive the vaccine.  The Navajo Nation Council has issued resolution CAU-48-21 to require schools promptly adopt COVID-19 vaccination requirements.  The Navajo Nation Board of Education has a supporting resolution NNBESE-752-2021 mandating all school to adopt COVID-19 vaccination requirements.  Employees and age-eligible students receiving the vaccination will keep our schools open.

The responsibility of providing a safe learning and teaching environment is not the exclusive responsibility of the school district.  Parents and students must contribute in a positive and proactive manner with behaviors that keep the schools safe and open for effective learning and teaching.

Distance learning will continue to be an option for students.

Lemual Adson, Superintendent

Kayenta Unified School District No. 27
